I’m a healthcare enthusiast with a passion for building, leading, and scaling teams and operations. I spent 20 years at athenahealth — what I like to call my “20-year MBA” — joining as employee ~100 and helping scale the company from a single RCM product to over 10 products, and from a US-based workforce to a global one that included both athena employees and vendor partners. A common thread across my time there was transforming paper-based processes into electronic ones: moving from manual EOB posting to automated ERA, from one-off claim follow-ups to CSI, and from faxed orders/results to electronic exchange, among many others. I love analyzing processes and finding ways to apply people, process, and technology to maximize efficiency, improve quality, and reduce cost. One of my proudest accomplishments was scaling a 4-person team that delivered 100 interfaces a year into a 300+ person organization delivering over 12K annually and supporting more than 4.4B monthly transactions. That growth came through restructuring, standardization, automation, global expansion, 24/7 operations, and investing in better tools and infrastructure. It was challenging, but ultimately rewarding — because connecting care across the healthcare ecosystem means getting the right information into the right hands at the right time to improve people’s lives. Outside of work, I’m a mom of three (Zoe, Ryan, and Lily), whose activities keep me and my supportive husband on our toes. I’ve also experienced the system firsthand when my oldest was sick, which only deepened my belief in the importance of seamless clinical data exchange. As a daughter too, I want my parents to have the best possible healthcare so they can thrive. I feel grateful every day for the chance to do work that, as we used to say at athena, helps “make healthcare work as it should.”
