Founding Story
AbCellera grew out of an academic lab where six scientists had the idea that microfluidics and single-cell analysis could be the basis for increasing the productivity of antibody drug development. Founded by Carl Hansen (CEO) and Véronique Lecault (CTO), the company was built over a decade of partnerships with biotech and pharmaceutical companies working on 100+ discovery programs.

Phase 1/2 trial initiated for ABCL635 (first-in-class NK3R antibody for VMS). Phase 1 trial initiated Q3 2025 for ABCL575 (atopic dermatitis). ABCL688 entered IND-enabling studies Q2 2025. Shifted strategic focus in 2023 from partnerships to advancing internal pipeline. Developed COVID-19 antibody medicines with Eli Lilly that reached clinic.
