About PocDoc

PocDoc is a UK-based health technology company revolutionising point-of-care diagnostics through smartphone-enabled blood testing. The company has developed an app-based technology platform that combines proprietary Microfluidic Assay (MFA) technology with cloud-based AI diagnostics to deliver end-to-end digital pathways for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of Cardio, Metabolic and Renal (CMR) diseases. Their flagship product, the Healthy Heart Check, provides fully quantified lab-grade lipid panel results in under 10 minutes from a simple finger-prick blood test. The platform delivers a complete 5-marker cholesterol panel including Total Cholesterol, HDL, Non-HDL/LDL, Triglycerides, and Total Cholesterol/HDL ratio, along with Heart Age and 10-year cardiovascular disease risk calculations compared against NHS clinical guidelines. PocDoc offers solutions for both healthcare professionals (PocDoc Pro) and individual consumers, with the professional version integrating with electronic health records and clinical risk engines. The company's mission is to prevent millions of premature deaths by identifying those at highest risk of CMR diseases, addressing the critical access gap where millions of at-risk individuals have never been tested. Founded by a multidisciplinary team of scientists, entrepreneurs and healthcare professionals, PocDoc is working to make diagnostics accessible for all, particularly those at highest risk who face barriers to traditional testing.

Mission & Story

Mission

We are on a mission to prevent millions of premature deaths by identifying those at highest risk of Cardio, Metabolic and Renal (CMR) diseases.

Founding Story

The company was founded in response to widening health inequalities and access issues in healthcare. The founders pondered the question of how to make it easier for patients to undergo blood tests and facilitate screening, particularly as many at-risk individuals are turned away from doctors due to resource limitations. Their answer was to leverage the ubiquity and image analysis capabilities of smartphones, designing an accessible test that harnesses phone image analysis capabilities combined with cloud computing.
