Chief Medical Officer and Co-Founder

Dr. Maulik Majmudar is a cardiologist and co-founder and Chief Medical Officer at Biofourmis. Prior to joining Biofourmis, Dr. Majmudar was the Medical Officer for Amazon Halo and led the development and launch of Amazon’s first health membership service. Prior to Amazon, he was Associate Director of the Healthcare Transformation Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital, and an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, where he was responsible for the identification, validation, and implementation of digital health solutions to improve care delivery as well as the patient and provider experience. While at MGH, he was awarded an education grant from the Aetna Foundation to launch a new Fellowship in Healthcare Innovation, aimed at fostering the next generation of clinician innovators. Dr. Majmudar was also a founding member and chief clinical officer of Quanttus, Inc. a venture-backed medical wearables startup that was developing a novel wrist-based device for continuous cuffless blood pressure monitoring. Dr. Majmudar attended Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and then completed residency training in Internal Medicine at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by a cardiovascular medicine fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He also holds two patents and has had several publications in high-impact journals, such as Nature, Circulation, JAMA, and Journal of Healthcare Delivery and Implementation Science.

Biofourmis is a Boston headquartered digital health leader that augments personalized patient care and therapies with Digital Therapeutics for better management of patients with complex chronic conditions. Biofourmis has built Biovitals, a highly sophisticated personalized artificial intelligence (AI)-powered health analytics platform that predicts clinical exacerbation days in advance before a critical event. Prior to joining Biofourmis, I spent 12 years in practice in leading law firms in Singapore and Australia and I am admitted to practice in the Supreme Courts of Singapore and Victoria, Australia. During my time in practice, I have been involved in technology matters across a number of industries such as ecommerce, hospitality, financial services, life sciences, manufacturing and telecommunications, both in Singapore and Australia. The deals that I am involved in often include multi-jurisdictional procurement, licensing or outsourcing aspects that have challenging regulatory requirements. I also have extensive corporate law experience across the entire funding lifecycle. I have acted for numerous start-ups across the full range of fundraising transactions encompassing debt and equity, from seed funding to venture capital rounds and exits in the start-up space. I was recognised as a Rising Star for TMT by Legal 500 Asia-Pacific in 2020 and 2021 and I am recommended practitioner for TMT in Doyles Guide.
